Learning to forgive from the one who never fails.

I stopped in the middle of a run and picked up a stone. I thought what a small thing - this stone. David defeated Goliath with one of these little guys, How could there be so much power in something so meek?
"The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone." Psalm 118:22
Jesus is embodied in the stone. More than that He is the stone Himself, the cornerstone.
So I thought to myself, I may look weak but if I put all my trust in Him then I could face my own giants.
The giant of anger or bitterness or anxiety. The giant of rejection and abandonment. The giant of betrayal and fear. It doesn't matter how big the giant or how many of them there are in my life - the stone is sufficient. Jesus is my cornerstone, my rock.
"When you go to war against your enemies and you see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD Your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you. Deuteronomy 20:1
There is no giant I've faced that He hasn't faced Himself and He is the undefeated champion - He knows the way.
These past few years He has been teaching me how to forgive.
I have wronged Him more than anyone has ever wronged me and yet He has loved me more than I could ever imagine. So I can draw from His well and forgive as He did.
"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times" Matthew 18:21-22
